Rationale     This Professional Learning opportunity will focus on the use of the 3P Brightpath Writing Assessment to inform planning and teaching.
     
Content     This half-day workshop offers teachers the opportunity to engage with the 3P Brightpath Writing assessment tool, endorsed by SCSA and offered free to all WA schools. The first part of the workshop is designed for teachers new to Brightpath, introducing the website, writing scales for each genre, assessment tasks and how to assess writing using the exemplars. The second part of the morning, “Getting the Most from Brightpath Assessments’, will focus on making consistent judgements using the calibrated exemplars and moderation of writing samples. There will be ample time for questions.

Who Should Attend     Classroom teachers, Literacy Leaders.
     
Additional Comments     This session is designed for teachers who are familiar with Brightpath Writing. It will focus on making judgements using the calibrated exemplars and moderation of writing samples, with allocated time for questions and answers. It is not necessary to enrol in Session 1 to attend this session. Teachers attending both sessions will only be charged for 1 session. Closing date for enrolments will be one week prior to the date of the PD. Substantial morning tea. No lunch provided.
