Rationale     EMU is a second wave intervention programme designed to support children in primary school who are not progressing at an expected rate in developing mathematical understandings within the realms of the classroom program
     
Content     Topics to be addressed throughout the year in the Continuing Contact Sessions: • EMU Updates. • Monitoring children’s learning after the EMU program. • Insights from the EMU Classroom: EMU teachers discuss and share the resources and ideas that make a difference for student learning. • Accelerating number learning for vulnerable students: To what do we need to pay most attention in intervention programs? • Learning targets and key teaching strategies in Counting, Place Value, Addition & Subtraction, and Multiplication & Division. • Intervention Basics – the lesson structure, learning targets, the EMU toolkit, reflection and home tasks. School Policy development.

Who Should Attend     Teachers who have been assigned to the role of EMU Teacher and have completed the EMU Program training in previous years.
     
Additional Comments     Participants required to attend minimum 2 of 4 sessions: 25 Mar, 27 May, 29 Jul, 4 Nov Non CEWA schools $500 for 4 sessions. Enrolments close 1 week prior.
