Delivered over 4 selected days this interactive training course is based on classroom strategies and informed by Berry Street’s approaches to trauma-informed learning and the science of wellbeing. Student-centered, their strategies provide teachers, leaders and allied education professionals with a practical toolkit to work with their most vulnerable students. The training is subsidised by CEWA through the Trauma Informed Schools Project. Schools are encouraged to attend this training with a minimum group size of 3-5 participants to support whole school implementation. |

Content |
|
The Berry Street Education Model (BSEM) provides Curriculum and
Classroom Strategies that enable teachers to increase engagement
of students with complex, unmet learning needs and to successfully
improve all students’ self-regulation, relationships, wellbeing, growth
and academic achievement. Our pedagogical strategies incorporate
trauma-informed teaching, positive education, and wellbeing
practices.

Outcomes |

On completion participants will:
Understanding the impacts of trauma on child development
and ability to learn
• creating a supportive and trauma-informed positive education
classroom’
• bolstering student-teacher relationships
• instilling strengths-based practices across the school.
Participants will learn how to help their students be more willing and
have improved capacity for school achievement. You will be
provided with a toolkit of 100+ student-centred strategies that:
• can be implemented with your students, and
• ensure a consistent approach to implementation across the
school.
