Title     Strengths-based Approaches to Wellbeing in Catholic Education
     
Target Audience     Catholic Schools
     
Rationale     To enhance participants understanding of strengths and the important role the knowledge and use of strengths can play in the pursuit of wellbeing outcomes within a Catholic education context.
     
Content     This session will explore how an understanding and application of character strengths can be used to build a strong and supportive classroom and school culture within a Catholic school. Practical and innovative approaches that have worked with students, staff and parents within a school community will be explored. Participants will develop a personal strengths plan, that will support their own flourishing as well as those in their team or classroom.

Who Should Attend     Wellbeing Leaders, Classroom teachers both primary and secondary, Psychologists, counsellors, social workers and anyone who is driven to flourish and passionate about wellbeing.

Outcomes     On completion participants will: • An understanding of a strengths-based approach to education. • The opportunity of a full personalised VIA Character Strengths report. • An understanding of personal strengths and how these can be applied to both your personal and professional life. • An exploration of simple strengths-based interventions that promote wellbeing in the classroom and workplace within a Catholic context. • A personal strengths-based plan to promote wellbeing. • An ongoing community of practice to share strengths-based interventions.
