It is age and developmental-stage appropriate, is culturally responsive and can be integrated into the wider curriculum. KS:CPC includes e-safety education and builds practical self-protective skills and strategies.

Designing Thinkers: A Professional learning suite in modelling and rich tasks
Supporting teachers to design and implement rich, open-ended tasks ensures students engage deeply with mathematical concepts and develop higher-order thinking. Using modelling to make mathematical thinking visible helps both teachers and students clarify reasoning, identify misconceptions, and build understanding. Incorporating differentiation within rich tasks allows all learners to access the curriculum at an appropriate level of challenge, promoting equity and engagement. Integrating the proficiencies ensures that learning is balanced, connected, and aligned with the Australian Curriculum. Starting with a focus on Number and Algebra provides a strong foundation for expanding these approaches across all strands of mathematics, enabling consistent, high-quality teaching practice throughout the school.
