| In the dynamic and challenging environment of Languages Education, teachers often juggle multiple responsibilities that can impact their wellbeing and effectiveness in the classroom. This professional development session is designed to address two critical areas: teacher wellbeing and effective behaviour management strategies.
Teacher wellbeing is foundational to creating a positive learning environment. By focusing on self-care, stress management and work-life balance, this session aims to empower Languages teachers to maintain their enthusiasm and resilience. Understanding and managing their own wellbeing enables teachers to be more present, engaged and supportive of their students’ learning journeys.
Equally important is equipping teachers with effective behaviour management strategies. This session will provide practical tools and techniques for fostering a positive classroom environment, minimising disruptions and addressing behavioural challenges through a positive mindset.

| From 1 November 2024, a person whose role falls within the definition of ‘early childhood worker’ in section 124A of the Act will become Mandatory Reporters of child sexual abuse. According to the Education and Care Services National Law (Western Australia) Act 2012, an ‘early childhood worker’ includes all OSHC staff and ELC staff. Please refer to the Information sheet attached for additional information.
To support this new legislation and to support all CEWA Care Service staff to understand their role and responsibilities as Mandatory Reporters, this session will be a face-to-face Mandatory Reporting training session facilitated by CEWA Child Safe Lead, Tim Wong.
Tim will be working through the legislation on mandatory reporting and will open the floor for discussion and answer any child safe and code of conduct questions. Tim will also talk to other reporting processes such as the Reportable Conduct Scheme with the Ombudsman.
