Assistant Principal – Full-time, Ongoing

St Paul's School Karratha is a double stream co-educational school with 400 students from Kindergarten – Year 6. The school was established by the Presentation Sisters in 1978 and today continues the charism of their founder Nano Nagle.

Our school is focussed on building teacher capacity and creating a high performing team which requires a knowledgeable and pastoral leader to assist fostering their development. We are seeking a leader with strong interpersonal skills and a capacity to build professional relationships. Experience with leading school initiatives would be beneficial. In 2025 the school will have two Assistant Principals with a 0.2 formal teaching component each.

Karratha is a vibrant regional city which offers a range of experiences for all ages. Selection Criteria

•  Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with staff, students, parents, parish and the wider community.
•  Be supportive of the Principal and work collaboratively and effectively as part of a leadership team.
•  Experience in driving and implementing the Western Australian Curriculum with alignment to the SCSA reporting requirements.
• The ability to facilitate the collection of data analysis at a student, classroom and whole school level with the ability to lead staff in the interpretation of such data.
•    The ability to lead professional learning communities, maintaining focus on school goals of improving reading and spelling.
• The confidence and agile leadership required for leading school change in system initiatives.
• Willingness to take on a key learning role in numeracy or literacy.

Desirable

•   A commitment to promote, enhance and improve both student and staff wellbeing across the school setting.


Qualifications Required

1. Be registered with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia.
2. Hold a valid Working with Children Check Card in Western Australia.
3. Accreditation for Leadership in Catholic Schools or significant progress toward completion.
