Position Details
Music Teacher (Primary)
This is a part-time position commencing 21st July 2025 to 31st December 2025, with the opportunity of ongoing employment.
St Benedict's School, is a co-educational Catholic school catering for children from Pre Kindy to Year 6. The school has a strong sense of community and tradition, along with committed and enthusiastic staff, working closely together to provide a supportive teaching and learning environment.
The curriculum is delivered using an Inquiry Based (Walker Influenced) approach enabling students to be engaged through accessing, analysing, understanding and applying information. The classroom environment enhances this by incorporating flexible seating and dedicated zones to foster collaboration, access to technology, teacher conferencing and independent work as needed.
The position is for 0.3 or 0.4 FTE dependant on the successful applicant. The role includes leading the School Choir and coordinating ,music for Liturgical celebrations held by the school.
We are seeking a suitably qualified, vibrant, and enthusiastic teacher to join our team.
Selection Criteria
• Has experience teaching classroom Music and can implement and assess the SCSA Music Curriculum.
• Is inspiring and enthusiastically delivers exceptional and inclusive teaching tailored to all abilities.
• Reflects on their practice and improves student outcomes with targeted and engaging strategies.
• Uses and integrates digital technologies into lessons to enrich the learning experience.
• Can confidently lead, rehearse and conduct the School Choir for school, liturgical or community events.
• Displays professional and appropriate communication and interpersonal skills that build positive relationship with students, families and peers.
• A team player, willing to collaborate with colleagues and parents and contribute to the good of the community.
Qualifications Required
1. Have or be willing to attain the appropriate Accreditation to Teach Religious Education.
2. Relevant Four Year Tertiary Qualification.
3. The ability to proficiently play Piano, Guitar or another instrument is highly desirable.
4. TRBWA and WWCC.
