Position Details

Class Teacher (Year 3) – Part-time (0.8 FTE), Temporary

Our Lady's Assumption School is a double stream, co-educational Catholic primary school catering for children from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6 with a current enrolment of 470 children. Our school values of Respect, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence are the key drivers that underpin all that we do to inspire our students to "Imagine, Believe and Succeed". We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative educator to join our team, with the primary goal of instilling a lifelong love of learning. The suitable applicant will be an individual who actively lives out their faith.

This position is 0.8 FTE, working Monday to Thursday.


Selection Criteria

Our Lady's Assumption is seeking applicants who are able to demonstrate the following:

  • An ability to work collaboratively and co-operatively with colleagues.
  • Success as a dynamic, innovative and reflective educator.
  • A willingness to participate in reflective practice in the form of training/coaching as part of induction into the school’s Teaching & Learning Philosophy.
  • Highly developed organisational and communication skills.
  • Experience in the delivery of "Promoting Literacy Development" as this is our whole school approach for the teaching of structured synthetic phonics.
  • Experience in using the Elastik data analysis tool would be beneficial.
  • A willingness to embrace 21st Century classroom practice and theory, and integrate the use of digital technology in the classroom.
  • Experience in a 1:1 device environment will be highly beneficial, specifically in the use of technology to differentiate learning and the implementation of Office 365 tools in the classroom.
  • The ability to analyse and use data to inform planning and programming.
  • Provide evidence of data-informed teaching practice through the application of assessment and continuous monitoring strategies of achievement practices.
  • Provide a diverse teaching/learning program to cater for student's individual needs.
  • A willingness to be an active part of whole school initiatives and extracurricular activities.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with children, parents and the community.
  • A positive and enthusiastic approach to education.


Qualifications Required

  • Accreditation to Teach RE in a Catholic School.
  • Bachelor of Education (Primary) or equivalent 4 year qualification.
