Position Details
Year 7 Coordinator – Fixed Term, Full-time
The Year 7 Coordinator’s focus is on the pastoral care, wellbeing and engagement of the Year 7 cohort which requires close collaboration with students, teachers and parents to ensure that our students feel connected, supported and encouraged as they transition to the important secondary developmental years.
They will be a member of the School’s Middle Leadership Team, sharing in the responsibility for the effective delivery of quality Catholic education at St Joseph’s School, providing a strong model for other staff.
The successful applicant will have time allocated to administration and Pastoral Care duties and will be required to undertake a teaching role in their preferred Learning Area/s. Further information is available from the Role Description available from our website.
Selection Criteria
Special skills are needed and applications are invited from applicants who possess the following:
* Be committed to the teachings and values of the Catholic Church,
* Be able to teach in several Learning Areas (HASS, English, Mathematics, Science or H&PE),
* Have excellent interpersonal skills,
* Demonstrate effective strategies for managing staff,
* Be an experienced teacher with outstanding classroom teaching skills (minimum 7 years),
* Demonstrate a high level of skill in the integration of ICT I their teaching and learning,
* Demonstrate a commitment to professional learning,
* Hold or be working towards completing Accreditation for Middle Leaders.
Qualifications Required
* Relevant 4 year tertiary qualifications
