Classroom Teachers 2026
Our Lady of Mt Carmel is seeking classroom teachers for 2026. These will be full-time positions, both temporary and ongoing with the very strong possibility of on-going employment for all positions. These positions would be a great opportunity for graduate teachers, or experienced teachers looking for a rural experience.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel is a thriving rural school and caters for approximately 40 students from Kindergarten to Year Six, with three composite classes, along with small class sizes. The school uses trauma informed practices to support student needs. The school is well-resourced with a 1:1 iPad program, Apple TV's and BenQ Boards in each classroom. All teachers new to the school are supported by a very experienced and caring staff.
As we are situated in the Mid-West region, 96km from the City of Geraldton, assistance with re-location is included, and FURNISHED TEACHER HOUSING IS AVAILABLE upon appointment to Mullewa. A location allowance is paid per fortnight, along with a regional annual bonus and air conditioning reimbursement, as well as a Christmas flight to Perth or equivalent (applicable after 12 months of service). Please refer to the CEWA Teacher EBA and salary schedule for more information regarding salary and conditions. The last section of the EBA contains information about the incentives within the CEWA Remote Area Package.
Selection Criteria
- Be fully supportive of the objectives and ethos of Catholic Education
- An ability to demonstrate sound classroom management skills based on restorative and supportive practices
- An ability to work with a wide variety of ability levels within the one class and a desire to assist each student to achieve their potential
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others across the school community
- A sound understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum
Qualifications Required
- A willingness to complete Accreditation requirements as specified by Catholic Education WA
- Relevant four year tertiary qualifications
