| | Position Details
St Munchin’s Catholic School Gosnells, is seeking to employ a passionate, dynamic and enthusiastic Students with Disability Coordinator to join our diverse, committed and vibrant team.
St Munchin’s is a co-educational, double-stream Catholic school, founded by the Mercy Sisters. Today the school caters for over 450 learners from Three-Year-Old Kindy to Year Six. The school draws its enrolment from a rich, diverse and multicultural community who strive to learn and grow together in harmony. At St Munchin’s School we aspire to enact our School Vision and Vision for Learning that are underpinned by Gospel Values that encourage students to strive to do their best in all aspects of school life.
The successful applicant will be expected to live out their faith in their daily lives, demonstrate excellence in teaching as a priority and be passionate about student learning and development.
Selection Criteria
We are seeking a suitably experienced, qualified, professional, committed, positive, "Christ centred, child focused" Students with Disability Coordinator who has the necessary knowledge, skills, ability and desire, along with:
• An understanding of and commitment to the ethos of Catholic Education.
• Willingness to take direction and collaborate with School Leadership Team
• A team player, with a proven history of developing positive, professional relationships in their current / previous community and capacity to lead a dynamic Student Support Team
• A dynamic educator and an innovative and reflective practitioner.
• Understands the importance of developing positive relations with children, staff & parents
• Have a sense of humour, be organised, positive, enthusiastic & enjoy their work
• Have excellent interpersonal skills & work well as part of a team
• Understand the importance of contributing to the life of the school
• Understand & can articulate how to use explicit & differentiated instruction to cater for the needs of their students.
• Have an enthusiastic, caring and empathetic disposition and can connect with and make a difference in the lives of children with high intensive needs.
• Will be responsible for student IEPs, SWD and NCCD funding applications.
• Coordinating and scheduling onsite therapists and seeking documentation
• Supporting teachers to write referrals (CDS, WANSLEA etc)
• Able to cater for all students across the school at their individual level.
• Able to authentically nurture positive and respectful relationships with students, staff and families.
• Demonstrated skills in establishing effective collaborative working relationships with staff, students, and parents.
• A team orientated, positive, professional, cooperative and collaborative educator who values and strives for continual professional growth and values feedback.
• A life long learner with a high level of professionalism, understanding of confidentiality, empathy and positive interpersonal skills.
Qualifications Required
• Relevant 4 year Tertiary Qualification
• Accreditation to teach Religious Education (or working towards)
• Demonstrate experience in supporting students with additional learning needs
