Position Details

Teacher (Early Childhood) – Full-time, Temporary

St John Paul II Catholic Primary School is a small two stream school catering for boys and girls from Pre-Kindy to Year 6. We are proudly a multicultural school and endeavour to live out our motto “In Harmony”.
 
We are seeking to appoint an exceptional, passionate early years classroom teacher to teach Pre-primary that supports learning through a balance of play and intentional teaching. St John Paul II Catholic Primary School offers a child-focussed Early Years Learning Program with a strong emphasis on authentic play-based and inquiry learning.

This is a full-time temporary position commencing 1 January 2025 and concluding 31 December 2025 with a high possibility of ongoing.


Selection Criteria


  • Fully supportive of the objectives and ethos of Catholic Education.
  • Create and maintain relevant planning and assessment records in line with SCSA requirements.
  • Have a sound working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework V.2, the National Quality Standards and progressive early years pedagogy to promote best practice.
  • Commit to own professional learning and development.
  • Nurture positive and respectful relationships with students, staff and parents.
  • Create a safe, welcoming and collaborative learning environment and communicate effectively with students, staff and parents.


Qualifications Required

  • Relevant four year early childhood teaching qualification.
  • Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School (or working towards).
