Position Details
Junior Primary Music Teacher
St Augustine’s Primary School, Rivervale, is building capacity in our Music Program and is seeking an inspiring Music Teacher to join our team. The Music Teacher will help students foster an enjoyment and love of Music through engaging learning activities that achieve positive outcomes linked to SCSA The Arts: Music Curriculum. The Music Teacher will teach Junior Music classes (Kindy to Year Two) and will also lead the School Choir for select student in Year 3 to Year 6.
The 0.2 FTE equates to one day of the week with flexibility as to which day, with a preference for Monday to Wednesday. This temporary position has the possibility of continuing in 2026.
St Augustine’s Primary School is a co-educational, single stream school located approximately 5km from the Perth CBD. The school enjoys a close relationship with the Parish and strong support from the parent community. The Music Teacher will work collaboratively with other Music Staff to support our Catholic community.
Selection Criteria
• Has experience teaching classroom Music and can implement and assess the SCSA Music Curriculum.
• Is inspiring and enthusiastically delivers exceptional and inclusive teaching tailored to all abilities.
• Reflects on their practice and improves student outcomes with targeted and engaging strategies.
• Uses and integrates digital technologies into lessons to enrich the learning experience.
• Can confidently lead, rehearse and conduct the School Choir for school, liturgical or community events.
• Displays professional and appropriate communication and interpersonal skills that build positive relationship with students, families and peers.
• Displays capacity and willingness to be a proactive member of a professional learning community and work collaboratively with all staff.
Qualifications Required
Applicants must be fully supportive of the objectives and ethos of Catholic Education and have:
• Relevant four year tertiary qualification.
• The ability to proficiently play Piano, Guitar or another instrument is highly desirable.
• Accreditation to Teach Religious Education (or willing to work towards).
• TRBWA registration.
• Working with Children Check.
