ECE / Primary Teacher – Full-time, Temporary
Our Lady of Mercy Primary School is a Kindy to Year 6, double stream, co-educational Catholic primary school located in Girrawheen. Our Lady of Mercy Primary takes great pride in our traditions, multiculturalism and strong Mercy and Gospel values. We provide a caring school community that nurtures the integrity and gentleness of each individual.
Our school is committed to improving learning outcomes for all students with a particular emphasis on early intervention. The building of staff capacity and high levels of staff collaboration are key elements of the school culture. We are seeking a dedicated, passionate and committed teacher with a thorough understanding of Explicit Instruction pedagogical practice and the Science of Reading. The successful candidate will support a culture in which every student is recognised as having the ability to learn and where learning and engagement are actively promoted through quality teaching practice. Applicants must be positive, enthusiastic and work collaboratively as part of a team.
Selection Criteria
The successful applicants will:
- Be fully supportive of the objectives and ethos of Catholic education and have a strong identity with the Catholic faith
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build authentic relationships across the school community
- Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of the Religious Education Units of Work and the Western Australian Curriculum
- Have experience in Explicit Instruction and the use of engagement norms
- Demonstrate an understanding of how to use the Judging Standards
- Hold high expectations for student learning and effectively differentiate for all learners
- Use data to inform their teaching practice and student learning
- Be willing to participate in extra-curricular activities to build a strong Catholic school community
- Have experience in using technology to engage students and deepen learning experiences
- Be exceptionally well organised, consistently completing assigned tasks and meeting compliance deadlines
Qualifications Required
- 4 Year Trained
- Current Working With Children Check Card
- Full TRBWA registration
- Accreditation to Teach RE in a Catholic school
