Position Details
Year 6 Teacher – Full-time, Temporary
Kearnan College is a co-educational school catering for students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12. The College was founded by the Sisters of St Joseph in 1925 and has a rich history of providing quality education in the Manjimup area for almost 100 years. The College is seeking a passionate Primary School Teacher to join its Junior School team from January 2025.
The successful applicant will:
• be prepared to work closely with the Principal and staff to ensure that Kearnan College authentically reflects the mission of a Catholic school.
• be able to demonstrate knowledge and expertise in the implementation of relevant curriculum.
• meet all requirements and deadlines pertaining to administration, assessment, and reporting.
• promote a vibrant and engaging learning environment by providing innovative approaches to student learning.
• establish positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
• undertake any other duties as reasonably required by the Principal.
This is a full-time, fixed term position with a contract period of 1 January 2025 – 31 December 2025.
Selection Criteria
The successful applicant must:
• be fully supportive of the objectives and ethos of Catholic education.
• demonstrate excellent pedagogical practices with a flexible, collaborative and student-centered approach, promoting student wellbeing and pastoral care.
• possess a sound knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum.
• demonstrates an understanding of the need for both Explicit and Differentiated instruction within a classroom environment.
• be a creative, flexible, and enthusiastic educator who understands and can demonstrate the importance of ICT being embedded and integrated into their teaching practices.
• be an enthusiastic and cooperative team person who will work collaboratively with all teachers and the Leadership Team.
• display excellent classroom management, organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• demonstrate the skills to contribute to and promote a strong staff culture and work collaboratively with students, staff, parents, and Parish to build community.
Qualifications Required
Relevant 4-year tertiary qualifications.
