Position Details
First Nations Education Assistant

Lumen Christi College is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic First Nations Education Assistant to join our Diversity Education Learning Area. The First Nations Education Assistant will display expertise in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, possessing enthusiasm, innovation and a commitment to the shared Vision of the College.

Position Description
 This is a full time, ongoing position commencing as soon as practicable.

Selection Criteria
Essential
The successful candidate will:
•    Be of First Nations background
•    Be prepared to support the Catholic ethos in the performance of their duties as a member of the Lumen Christi College community
•    Have completed, or be willing to complete, Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School
•    Display a commitment to support the Catholicity of the school, through a manner of life and stated beliefs which are in keeping with the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Desirable
The successful candidate will have:
•    Have a qualification as appropriate to the position or currently be studying to achieve such qualifications (relevant TAFE Certificate IV qualification)
•    Have experience in the role of First Nations Education Assistant within a school environment
•    Be self-motivated with a keen interest in encouraging and inspiring First Nations students to excel on their educational journey
•    Have demonstrated knowledge of First Nations educational programmes and a demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with First Nations people.
