Position Details
TEACHER (EARLY CHILDHOOD PREFERRED)
Matthew Gibney catholic Primary School is a single stream, co-educational school with an active school community and supportive parent body. Education excellence is highly regarded, with the staff utilising data to inform their practices to provide a quality education that meets the students' needs. We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and organised Teacher (Early Childhood preferred) to join our team of dedicated staff members in our Early Childhood team. Educators at Matthew Gibney Catholic Primary School are dedicated to ensuring that every student has a strong sense of belonging to our community. Please note, there is possible opportunity for this position to be extended to the 2026 scholastic year.
Selection Criteria
We are seeking a suitably experienced, qualified, professional, committed, positive, "Christ centred, child focused" Catholic educator who has the necessary knowledge, skills, ability and desire, along with:
- An understanding of and commitment to the ethos of Catholic Education.
- A team player, with a proven history of developing positive, professional relationships in their current / previous community.
- A strong working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standards and progressive early years pedagogy to promote best practice.
- Evidence of data-informed teaching practice through the application of continuous monitoring strategies of achievement.
- Experience and passion for 21st century learning, incorporating explicit teaching, flexible learning and inquiry based learning.
- A proven history of initiating and/or supporting whole school improvement practices and extra-curricular activities.
- A professional who values the importance of teaching Social and Emotional Wellbeing to enhance and support the wellbeing of our students.
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills that create a supportive and safe learning environment for all students.
- A team orientated, positive, professional, cooperative and collaborative educator who values and strives for continual professional growth and values feedback.
- A life long learner with a high level of professionalism, understanding of confidentiality, empathy and positive interpersonal skills.
Qualifications Required
An Early Childhood Qualification is preferred.
