Position Details

Head Grounds-person – Full-time, Temporary

Applications are invited to join St Lawrence’s Primary School, Bluff Point, as a full-time Head Grounds-person from 15 November 2024 to 27 April 2025 to cover leave, with the possibility of extension. The successful applicant will undertake a range of daily activities such as:

•    presenting well maintained gardens and grounds (including regular oval mowing).
•    fulfilling maintenance requests.
•    co-ordination of trades.
•    supervision of part time grounds staff.
•    waste management.
•    event setup (such as carnivals, assemblies etc).

The remuneration package for the successful applicant includes the provision of a ground’s vehicle, mobile telephone, and iPad.


Selection Criteria

Applicants must be able to demonstrate a high degree of proficiency in the following areas:

•    Applicants must be prepared to support the Catholic ethos in the performance of their duties.
•    Experience in horticulture/groundskeeping and/or maintenance.
•    Have effective oral, digital and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with students, parents and staff.
•    Show initiative, work independently and contribute to our team environment.
•    Be able to provide and maintain a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with work health and safety legislation.


Qualifications Required


•    Have or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Card.
•    Have or be willing to obtain a National Police History Check.
•    Valid driver's license.
