Position Details

Administration Officer – Part-time (0.4 FTE), Temporary

We are seeking to appoint a part-time Administration Officer working 2 or 3 days per week (Thursday & Friday – third day is negotiable).

This is a temporary position commencing 1 January 2025 and concluding 1 September 2025.
 
St John Paul II Catholic Primary School in Banksia Grove is a double stream co-educational school for 270 children from Kindergarten to Year 6. The community is multicultural and is continuing to grow. The School enjoys a close relationship with a growing and thriving Parish.

This position is a shared role, primarily responsible for the day-to-day running of the school's main office, all new student enrolments, the administration of current student/family details and dealing with student medical needs.

This role will report to the Principal.  

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Day to day running of the school's main office
• Administering basic first aid to students
• Receiving and following up all new enrolment enquiries and expressions of interest
• Managing new student enrolments and the associated documentation
• Maintaining and updating as required all current student/ family details
• Frequent communication and interaction with all members of the school community
• Other duties as required by/for the Principal

This role would suit an organised and personable individual who demonstrates initiative.

The applicant must address the following selection criteria in their application:

Essential

• Prepared to support the Catholic ethos in the performance of their duties
• A positive and welcoming attitude with a high level of interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated experience of working effectively within teams to achieve objectives
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise work, take initiative and meet deadlines
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Ability to handle sensitive information professionally and with confidentiality
• Advanced computer skills and knowledge including experience in Microsoft Office 365 Suite and Internet Applications

Highly Desirable

• Knowledge of AOS (Administration of Schools), SEQTA and MyHR would be an advantage, but is not essential
• Experience in a school administration environment would also be an advantage, but is not essential
• First aid qualifications (or willingness to attain)


Qualifications Required

• Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School (or willingness to attain)
• (Dept of Education) WA Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check
