Music Teacher - Full-time, Temporary

Mater Christi Catholic Primary School is a three stream co-educational school catering for boys and girls from Early Learning (Pre-kindy) to Year Six. We are a modern and well resourced school positioned within a peaceful environment overlooking Yangebup Lake, an easy 20 minute drive from the city.  The School enjoys a close relationship with the Parish and the strong support of the parent community.  Together with a comprehensive academic curriculum, Mater Christi places strong emphasis on excellence in teaching and learning.  We are seeking an experienced (preferred), suitably qualified, creative music teacher committed to the pursuit of educational excellence to be part of a progressive and dynamic team.

A possible 0.8FTE or 1.0FTE position could be negotiated with the Principal. This is a leave replacement for Semester Two, 2024, with the possibility of becoming ongoing from 1 January 2025.

Selection Criteria

•    Be prepared to support the Catholic ethos in the performance of their duties
•    Have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
•    Love and passion for music
•    Develop and teach to Australian Curriculum standards to deliver child centred programmes for PP-Yr 6 classes        
•    Oversee the already established Instrumental programme
•    Provide Liturgical music for School Masses
•    Be flexible, adaptable and able to work collaboratively as part of the Arts Team
•    Coordinate a small Rock Bank, and Yrs 3-6 Choir
•       Provide opportunities for students to showcase their talents eg: Catholic School's Performing Arts Festival, Assembly and other school events

Qualifications Required

Bachelor of Education (Primary).
