Teacher (Primary)

Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School, located in the picturesque town of Esperance, is a co-educational primary school catering for approximately 140 students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6. The school was built in 1992 and was established to be a distinctively Catholic learning community with a clear vision to provide a stimulating environment where each student has the opportunity to grow in their faith and to be confident life-long learners. We Make Jesus Real by living out our CORE values of Courage, Optimism, Respect and Excellence. Our inquiry approach to learning is evident throughout the school, focusing on student engagement and rich, real life learning opportunities. The school has adopted evidence-based programs to support student learning, such as PreLit, InitiaLit, SpellEx, MiniLit and MacqLit. The specialist subjects of Auslan, Science, Physical Education, Visual Arts and Dance are taught in Pre-Primary to Year Six. All classes have access to iPads, with a 1:1 program operating in Years 4-6.

We seek a Teacher (Primary) to begin 1 January 2026. This is a full-time ongoing position. The successful applicant will be part of a dedicated staff, who work together with a child-first approach. Selection Criteria

• Support the objectives and ethos of Catholic Education Western Australia
• Have a sound understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum and current educational theories/practices
• Demonstrate the ability to use assessment and data effectively and differentiate the teaching and learning program to cater for a variety of student needs
• Be an enthusiastic and highly capable teacher able to work cooperatively and collaboratively as part of a team
• Have sound ICT skills and the ability to integrate technology into the curriculum to enhance learning 
• Be an organised staff member who shows initiative, flexibility and displays a positive outlook

Qualifications Required

• Relevant four year tertiary qualification
• Accreditation to Teach Religious Education, or the willingness to work towards this
