Position Details
LEARNING SUPPORT COORDINATOR
Clontarf Aboriginal College is a co-educational Catholic secondary boarding school for First Nations students in Years 7–12, located in Waterford, WA. In the tradition of Blessed Edmund Rice, the College is a place of learning and understanding that respects and celebrates Aboriginal culture and spirituality. The College is committed to nurturing and empowering people so they may contribute positively to their communities.
As a Curriculum and Re-engagement (CARe) school, Clontarf Aboriginal College is seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Coordinator to join our team. This role is integral to supporting the College’s Vision for Learning by providing educational leadership and working closely with staff to provide targeted support to students.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and deliver modified English and Mathematics programs.
• Provide in-class support and intensive intervention for students with diverse learning needs.
• Support teachers to develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans.
• Collaborate with staff to support differentiated teaching and learning.
• Analyse data to monitor school academic trends.
• Communicate with families regarding the learning needs of their children.
• Assist with the preparation and submission of NCCD and SWD data.
Selection Criteria
Essential:
• Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School (or willingness to obtain).
• Current registration with the Teacher Registration Board of WA (TRBWA).
• Demonstrated experience in supporting students with additional learning needs.
• Understanding of the factors that impact the educational success of First Nations students, and a commitment to culturally responsive teaching.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to the ethos and values of Catholic education.
Desirable:
• Experience with NCCD and SWD data collection processes.
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants are encouraged to apply.
• Primary teaching experience is highly regarded.
