Position Details
Education Support Teacher & Students with Disability Coordinator – Full-time, Ongoing
St Peter's Primary School is seeking a passionate, dynamic and enthusiastic teacher to join our diverse, committed and vibrant team. Applicants must be fully supportive of the objectives and ethos of Catholic education.
Administration:
• Work closely with the Leadership Team to provide a positive, supportive and effective educational environment for students.
• Work with the Leadership Team to create a compassionate and respectful working environment for staff.
Timetabling:
• Collaborate with the Leadership Team to coordinate student support timetables.
• Coordinate Education Assistants weekly and day to day timetables in conjunction with the Leadership Team.
Communication:
• Support the Leadership Team in the organisation of parent meetings and act on their behalf in their absence.
• Assist in developing and maintaining positive relationships and communication with staff.
Curriculum:
• Support the Leadership Team and teachers in developing suitable teaching and learning programs.
• Coordinate and assist with the teaching of MiniLit and MacqLit.
• Support teaching staff in the development of student IEPs.
• Work in conjunction with Leadership Team to oversee school documentation for NCCD data collection.
Selection Criteria
• A highly organised team player, with the initiative to proactively provide operational support to the school’s educational support needs.
• Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to manage competing priorities and respond to change.
• Excellent ability to build strong and positive working relationships with students, parents and staff.
• Excellent understanding of diverse student needs and a proven ability to support staff in meeting the learning needs of each student.
• Excellent ability to communicate to students and parents with purpose and meaning.
• An awareness and appreciation for the Catholic ethos of St Peter’s.
Qualifications Required
• Relevant 4-year tertiary qualification.
• Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School.
• Accreditation to Teach Religious Education (or working towards).
• An active member of Catholic Church.
