Position Details
Boarding House Supervisor
The role of the House Supervisor will be carried out in a spirit of co-operation and mutual support with the Director of Boarding and other boarding team members. The House Supervisor will need to be flexible and to be able to manage the unexpected happenings that occur within the Boarding House residence. These responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with the school ethos, values, policies, priorities and procedures.
This position requires 7 days/nights including alternate weekend roster which involve overnight sleepovers. The College Boarding House operates 7 days per week. The Boarding Supervisor positions are full-time, shifts as follows:
• Full-time positions involve 7 shifts per fortnight (7 shifts), rotating weekdays and weekends evenly.
• Staff are required to sleep overnight 7 days per fortnight on boarding house premises. The work shifts are scheduled to accommodate these overnight stays.
Selection Criteria
• A clear commitment to the objectives and ethos of Catholic Education. Provide a safe and secure environment to all students while fostering the Catholic ethos of the College.
• Demonstrated commitment to contributing to a positive and collaborative environment.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven awareness of Indigenous and cross-cultural community needs and sensitivities related to working in a cross-cultural environment.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively and politely with students, parents, school staff and members of the public.
• Good knowledge and understanding of the current issues and interests of tween/teen girls.
• Depth of understanding of duty of care and of risk aversion and compliance in the workplace.
• Willingness to complete the ABSA Duty of Care Course.
• A current driver’s license and confidence in driving a ‘12 seat commuter’ van. Having an F class bus license is desirable.
• To understand the importance of safety of all members of the community, including evacuation and lockdown procedures.
• 5 years’ experience in similar role.
• Working with Children check.
• Department of Education Police Check https://www.education.wa.edu.au/ncchc
• Up to date First aid and CPR.
• Catholic accreditation to work or willingness to obtain.
