Position Details

EDUCATION ASSISTANT - LEARNING SUPPORT

Status: Ongoing part-time to full-time position negotiable

Commencing: 1 January 2025

Applications are sought for a Learning Support Education Assistant at Kolbe Catholic College. This role will require the successful applicant to contribute to the support and education of students who require learning support to ensure the optimal educational outcome for each individual.

There is a requirement to foster high quality relationships with students to ensure that each student is treated with dignity and feels a sense of belonging.

The Learning Support Centre offers highly individualised programs to cater to the specific needs and priorities of individual students. Staff work closely with external therapists and families to ensure maximum learning and engagement aligned to existing student goals.

We aim to provide a balance between the Learning Support Centre and mainstream classes in order for students to maintain connection with the wider school community. Typically, students who spend part of their day in the Learning Support Centre continue to enjoy mainstream electives, religious education and health and physical education lessons

The successful applicant would have a proven ability to effectively work with others in a collaborative environment and the capacity to support teachers across multiple disciplines and activities.

Applicants must be willing to support the objectives and ethos of Catholic Education and be prepared to involve themselves in the extra-curricular life of the College.
