Position Details

Primary Teacher – Full-time, Temporary

St Joseph's Primary School is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Primary Teacher to join our dedicated team. This is a full-time temporary position beginning on 1st January 2025 and commencing on 31st December 2025.

Founded by the Sisters of St Joseph's, St Joseph's caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 6 in multi-aged, well-resourced and contemporary classrooms.

Our professional and highly motivated staff are passionate about supporting individual student success. They constantly work to implement evidence-based teaching practices and build strong, positive relationships with students to gain an understanding of how individual students learn best. With small class sizes, staff are committed to providing quality, differentiated learning programs that enhance student achievement.

Guided by the traditions and beliefs of the Catholic Church, we strive to develop the faith of all those in our community. Our community recognises the uniqueness of each child as we encourage the spiritual development of all.


Selection Criteria

•    Be fully supportive of the objectives and ethos of Catholic education.
•    Demonstrate excellent pedagogical skills with a flexible, collaborative and student-centred approach, promoting student wellbeing and pastoral care.
•    Possess a sound knowledge of the Religious Education Units of Work and the Western Australian Curriculum.
•    Demonstrate excellent planning and implementation of a differentiated teaching/learning programme, including thinking skills and inquiry-based learning that engages all learners.
•    Demonstrate the ability to use assessment and continuous monitoring methods and tools to adjust the teaching practices to cater for the needs of all students.
•    Display excellent classroom management, organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
•    Demonstrate a high level of expertise in integrating digital technologies to enrich teaching and learning experiences.
•    Demonstrate the capability to work collaboratively with other staff to promote student learning.
•    Demonstrate an ability to lead by taking on roles within the School and being involved in extra-curricular activities.
•    Demonstrate the skills to contribute to and promote a strong staff culture and work collaboratively with students, staff, parents and Parish to build community.


Qualifications Required

Applicants must:

1. Have a current teacher registration with the Teacher Registration Board of WA (TRBWA) to be eligible for appointment.
2. Have or be willing to attain the appropriate Accreditation to Teach Religious Education.
3. Have a relevant Four-Year Primary Tertiary Qualification.
