Position Details

Applications are invited to join St Lawrence’s Primary School, Bluff Point, as a full time Head of Maintenance and Grounds, commencing November 2025. The successful applicant will undertake a range of daily activities such as:

  • Presenting well maintained gardens and grounds (including regular oval mowing)
  • Fulfilling maintenance requests
  • Co-ordination of trades
  • Supervision of part time grounds staff
  • Waste management
  • Event setup (such as carnivals, assemblies etc)

 Selection Criteria

 Applicants must be able to demonstrate a high degree of proficiency in the following areas:

  • Applicants must be prepared to support the Catholic ethos in the performance of their duties
  • Experience in horticulture/groundskeeping and/or maintenance
  • Have effective oral, digital and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with students, parents and staff
  • Show initiative, work independently and contribute to our team environment
  • Ability to carry out physical tasks of the position including bending and heavy lifting of goods, tools and equipment, and furniture
  • Be able to provide and maintain a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with work health and safety legislation

 Qualifications Required

  • A trade qualification an appropriate field is desirable
  • Have or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Card
  • Have or be willing to obtain a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check
  • Valid driver's license
