Position details:

St Jude’s Catholic School is a co-educational primary school comprised of students from Three-Year-Old Pre-Kindy to Year 6.  Our school is a caring, multicultural educational community, which offers innovative programs and seeks to provide a safe, nurturing and secure environment for all families.  The foundations of the Sisters of Mercy continue to underpin our traditions as we seek to make Jesus real in our lives every day.

We are looking for a part-time (0.4 FTE) temporary Education Assistant (Special Needs) to join our team. This role will involve working Thursdays and Fridays, starting from 1 January 2025 through to 31 December 2025.    
Selection Criteria:

  • Have a great sense of humour and a willingness to actively support and promote the Catholic and pastoral dimension of school life
  • Able to display confidence and initiative in order to be an active part of the curriculum program   within the classroom
  •  Be able to support the teaching program when working with individuals and small groups
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and confidentiality with a committed approach to working with children and building positive relationships with parents and staff
  • Excellent organisational skills

Qualifications Required:

  • A Certificate IV in Teacher Assistant (or equivalent)
  •  Current Working With Children Check Card (required on appointment) 
  • Current Crimtrac 100 Point Check Police Clearance (required on appointment)
  • Current First Aid Certificate (required on appointment)
