Head of Primary Learning Support

This is a full time, ongoing position commencing in January 2026.
A St Mary MacKillop College teacher encourages each student to discover and develop their interests and talents in order to become the best they can be. Providing innovative and best practice teaching, students will grow and develop lifelong learning attributes.
Are you passionate about making a positive impact on students with special educational needs? Do you have the leadership skills to lead and inspire an experienced team and drive student success? We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic leader to join our primary school community.
Reporting to the Head of Primary, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Educator in Learning Support to oversee a team of Educators and take responsibility for the inclusion of students with disability and additional learning needs from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6.
The successful applicant will have:
• A willingness to promote and support Catholic values as a member of the St Mary MacKillop College community.
• A relevant teaching qualification in Primary, as well as post graduate qualifications in Special Educational Needs.
• Current Teachers Registration.
• Current Working with Children Check and valid Crim Check.
We are seeking someone that:
• Wholeheartedly embraces the culture and the vision of the College.
• Shows initiative, works independently and contributes to the management of a dynamic Learning Support team.
• Gives assistance to staff, families and students in supporting Students with Disability and/or Learning Difficulties throughout the Primary Campus.
• Has a positive, compassionate nature with highly effective written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills.
• Possesses excellent leadership and organisational skills, coupled with previous experience in a leadership position is highly desirable.
• Will monitor, assess and report on student outcomes in accordance with students Individual Educational Plans.
• Maintains confidentiality regarding all aspects of College students, staff, procedures and practices.
• Possesses a working understanding of the legislative requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act (1992) and the Disability Standards for Education (2005).
