| Position Details
We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Home Economics Teacher to join our School. This is a full time, ongoing position, and it is preferred that the successful applicant commences in the role as soon as possible, however this is open to negotiation.
Reporting to the HOLA Technologies as a Home Economics Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering excellent; lower school Food Technology, upper school Food Science and Technology and upper school Children Family and Community programs, with the ability to differentiate your teaching practice to suit the needs of the department/ school.
Your responsibilities as a Home Economics Teacher include:
- Technology to years 7-10.
- Teaching Food Science and Technology to years 11-12.
- Teaching Children Family and Community ATAR and general.
- Teaching Childcare to years 9-10.
- Teaching Textiles to year 9.
- The ability to teach lower school Textiles would be advantageous.
- Writing and teaching programs adapting to the ongoing changes in Food Science Technologies Industry. You will demonstrate the ability to translate industry changes into contemporary teaching pedagogies.
- Ability to use and teach a wide range of software.
- Ability to effectively manage a pastoral care group (PCG).
- Ability to work collaboratively to build rapport with students, parents and all College employees to develop respectful, inclusive and positive working relationships.
- Working collaboratively and collegially in a Technologies team of teachers and assistants.
Selection Criteria
- Passionate Home Economics teacher who is creative in their teaching practices.
- Ability to teach Children Family and Community.
- Experience in designing and delivering differentiated units of work.
- Flexible and competent in the delivery of Food Technology to various year levels.
- The ability to grow a culture where students can be the best they can be.
- Excellent working knowledge of the current West Australian Curriculum to develop effective learning outcomes for students.
- An awareness and appreciation for the Catholic ethos of the College.
Qualifications Required
- Undergraduate degree in a specific discipline with a Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary) or Bachelor of Education.
