Position Details

Liwara Catholic Primary School is a double stream co-educational school situated in the heart of Greenwood. A sense of pride and joy abounds our flourishing learning community where we all aspire to live our motto of ‘Strength In Community’.

We are seeking an enthusiastic leader with strong interpersonal skills and a capacity to work alongside a high performing team to continue to build professional and pastoral relationships. Our team is committed to providing high quality and engaging teaching experiences to support and improve achievement in learning for all students. The successful applicant will live out their faith in their daily lives, be positive and bring their own energy and passion to a group of dynamic staff. Experience in working with the extended leadership team in driving whole school improvement would be beneficial.
 
The position of Assistant Principal will be a shared role with a range of responsibilities in supporting the Principal in the domains of leadership in a Catholic School: – Catholic Identity; Education; Community and Stewardship.

•    The ability to promote the Catholic Identity of the school through its vision, mission and educational goals and values.
•    Expertise in leading curriculum enhancement and change in the school through the implementation of contemporary learning programs and an ability to inspire and mentor staff.
•    The ability and experience to analyse and use data to lead staff in raising student levels of Achievement, aligning with our school improvement processes.
•    A high level of initiative and competency and the ability to support the principal, working as part of a collaborative and dynamic leadership team.
•    Excellent organisational skills, with an understanding of school administrative work, accountability and deadlines.
•    Exceptional interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all students, staff, families and the All Saints Parish.
•    A positive and enthusiastic leadership style that shows the capacity and commitment to the school’s extra-curricular activities and initiatives in establishing structures for family engagement in student learning.
•    An active commitment to student and staff wellbeing.
•    The ability to teach as a dynamic, innovative and reflective practitioner who strives for excellence.
•    The capacity to ensure the student is at the centre of all decisions, processes and planning.

Qualifications Required

•    Accreditation to teach Religious Education.
•    Accreditation for Leadership of the Religious Education Learning Area.
•    At least a minimum of seven years relevant education experience.
