Position Details

HELPDESK SUPPORT ASSISTANT

Status:               Part-time – 3 days – 12 Month Contract 12 (40 weeks)

Commencing:    Term 1 2025

The Helpdesk Support Assistant plays a vital role within the Walsh Learning Team, providing key support to the College Helpdesk. Reporting directly to the Head of Digital Learning, this position is responsible for managing the operations of the Walsh Learning Centre (WLC) Help Desk, offering solutions and technical support to students, teachers, and administration staff.

In addition to Helpdesk responsibilities, the assistant will collaborate with IT and Library staff, assisting with administrative tasks and other jobs around the school. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, confidence in both team collaboration and independent work, as well as a self-motivated approach.

Key responsibilities include:

•    Providing exceptional customer service as the first point of contact for parents, students, and staff, maintaining a positive and professional public profile.
•    Assisting staff, students, and parents with IT-related issues and resource inquiries.
•    Managing the ticket enquiry system and performing administrative duties as assigned by the Helpdesk Manager and the Head of Digital Learning.
•    Offering in-classroom support for teachers when needed.
•    Escalating more complex issues to the appropriate WLC staff members.
•    Actively participating in College life and engaging in professional development opportunities provided by the College.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organisational skills, the ability to meet deadlines, and prior experience in customer-facing roles is highly regarded.
