Position Details
Part-Time Junior Health & Physical Education Teacher 2026 with the option to commence in Term 4, 2025
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates with a passion for promoting health and physical fitness to join St Lawrence’s Primary School in 2026, with the option to commence in Term 4, 2025, as a part-time junior Health and Physical Education teacher. The successful applicant will teach HPE to students from Pre-Primary to Year Two, three days per week, with the possibility of an additional two days per week with a classroom teaching load.
Suitable applicants will ideally have experience and knowledge in teaching primary health and physical education, with a strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum. The role includes working collaboratively to coordinate the organisation of all school sporting events.
Selection Criteria
Applicants must be able to demonstrate a high degree of proficiency in the following areas:
• Be prepared to support the Catholic ethos in the performance of their duties
• Have the capacity to teach Physical Education
• Demonstrate pedagogical skills with a flexible, collaborative, and student-centred approach
• Possess a sound knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum
• Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills
• Demonstrate highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
• Provide a flexible and adaptive teaching/learning program that provides differentiated instruction and explicit teaching
• Demonstrate the capability to work cooperatively and collaboratively and a willingness to participate in reflective practice.
Qualifications Required
• Have appropriate teaching qualifications.
• Have or be willing to obtain the necessary accreditation requirements.
• Have a current TRBWA Registration and a current Working with Children Card.
