Position Details

Garden Labourer

Working under the general direction of the Principal through the Business Manager and Grounds and Maintenance Supervisor, the gardener is responsible for the maintenance of College grounds and facilities. This position is a vital role in supporting the education program of the College. The gardener must have a positive attitude and be physically fit to undertake daily duties. The gardener must be aware of and comply with Work Health & Safety policies and practices of the School. The gardener may be required to assist with major school events such as sport carnivals, Masses and other activities, and shall attend staff meetings and other meetings as required conducted at the school or elsewhere, within or outside of the employee’s normal working hours.


Selection Criteria

• Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with other people and follow written instructions.
• Competent operation of grounds and maintenance machinery and equipment (tractors, lawnmowers, power tools etc).
• Ability to show initiative, work independently, and contribute actively to a dynamic team environment.
• Model and maintain the Catholic ethos of the College.


Qualifications Required

• Current Working with Children Check WA.
• Current Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
• Current unrestricted WA ‘C’ class drivers’ licence.
