Position Details
Physical Education Teacher / Sports Coordinator - Full-time, Temporary
St Joseph's College is a regional Catholic school catering for students from Three-Year-Old to Year Twelve located 410km from Perth. A Physical Education teacher is required to teach students in the Primary (Junior School) and coordinate College-based and inter-school sporting events for the Junior School. There may be an opportunity for the successful applicant to also teach in the Secondary School.
This is an excellent opportunity for a PE teacher new to teaching or someone looking for an exciting collaborative and community-based role by the sea. The exceptional landscape of the Great Southern is your classroom. The College will meet the costs of relocation to Albany for the successful applicant.
Selection Criteria
The successful applicant must:
• Be supportive of the Catholic ethos of the College in the performance of their duties.
• Have the capacity to teach 3YO to Year 6 Physical Education.
• Have excellent planning skills and the ability to create programs that cater for individual differences.
• Possess highly effective communication and interpersonal skills so as to engage positively with colleagues, students and parents.
• Have an excellent understanding of a variety of assessment and reporting strategies.
• Have the capacity to be a pro-active member of a professional learning community complying with legal, administrative and professional requirements.
• A preparedness to be fully involved in school activities such as camps.
Qualifications Required
Essential:
• Bachelor of Education or equivalent.
Desirable:
• First Aid qualification.
• Lifesaving qualification.
• Bus licence.
