Position Details

Uniform Shop Manager


We are seeking a dedicated, welcoming and efficient Uniform Shop Manager. This is a part-time role working Monday and Wednesday’s. The start date for this position is negotiable, but ideally as soon as possible. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance and Corporate Services, The Uniform Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the College Uniform Shop. As the Uniform Shop is often the first point of contact for new families, the Manager—together with the Uniform Shop Assistants—plays a key role in creating a welcoming and positive customer experience.

Your responsibilities as Uniform Shop Manager include:  

• Oversee Uniform shop staff/volunteers and their duties. Maintain a professional, friendly, and welcoming environment within the uniform shop. 
• Open and set up the uniform shop at the beginning of each trading day and secure the shop at the end each trading day; maintain security of all monies/valuables on the premises.
• Attend to any queries by parents or college staff, i.e. any complaints regarding service or uniform quality or enquiries about special uniform requirements.
• Oversee the Online store maintenance and sales.
• Attend Monthly management meetings with Director of Finance and Corporate Services to report on all matters relating to the Uniform Shop. 
• Oversee stock management; liaise with suppliers regarding stock items, purchasing and receiving goods. Oversee processing of invoices. 
• Ensure preloved stock is of the highest standard and quality.
• Year seven Appointments – set up booking system with appropriate dates and staffing requirements to facilitate uniform requirements of new students to the College Community.


Selection Criteria

What we are seeking:

• The ability to instruct the workflow of staff and volunteers to maintain a positive working environment and culture. 
• The ability to demonstrate experience working in a retail environment (experience within a school environment would be highly advantageous). 
•The ability to effectively order stock, negotiate prices and manage delivery time frames efficiently.  
• The ability to demonstrate excellent customer service skills, ensuring positive and professional connections with parents, students and staff members. 
• The ability to quickly build rapport with College staff, all students and parents/caregivers or users of the uniform Shop. 
• The ability to be flexible, adaptable and solve problems quickly.  
• The ability to demonstrate excellent organisational skills and effectively manage competing priorities. 
• An awareness and appreciation for the Catholic ethos of the College.
• Very strong team focus - proactively uses initiative to step in and support team members and staff.


Qualifications Required

• Experience and or qualifications in Sales/Customer Service.
• IT Proficient.
