Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Guildford Road, St Columba’s School Bayswater is a true hidden gem. We provide a supportive and enriching environment for just over 500 students from Pre-Kindergarten through Year 6, under the guiding principles of the Sisters of Mercy. We are seeking a Pre Primary Teacher to join our team of nurturing, professional and fun loving staff. The position involves teaching Religious Education. As an applicant, you must be a practising Catholic. This position is temporary, replacing a teacher on leave.

This is a part time position. This position could be combined with the additional 0.6 FTE Pre Primary position to create a full time position.

Selection Criteria:

•    Be a practising Catholic as evidenced through a Parish Priest Reference;
•    Must be prepared to support the Catholic ethos in the performance of their duties;
•    Be an exemplary, enthusiastic educator who demonstrates a willingness to collaborate with all staff as part of a professional learning community;
•    A comprehensive knowledge of the West Australian Curriculum with the ability to organise, select and design content for effective teaching and differentiated learning;
•    Knowledge and experience of the National Quality Standard;
•   Demonstrates the ability to use data to inform practice based on evidence-based research;
•    Knowledge and use of high impact strategies in their teaching practice;
•    An inclusive teacher who can support students with diverse learning, social and cultural needs through the constant promotion of safety and wellbeing;
•    Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills that create a supportive and safe environment;
•    Understands the importance of developing positive relationships with children, staff and parents and can demonstrate evidence of such actions.

Qualifications Required:

A relevant 4 year tertiary qualification specialisting in Early Childhood Education; Current registration as a teacher with the Teacher Registration Board of WA; Hold or be working towards Accreditation to Teach Religious Education.
