Position Details

St Elizabeth's Catholic Primary School, Hocking is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic full-time Assistant Principal to join our vibrant and growing school community. This is an ongoing position commencing January 1, 2025.
 
St Elizabeth’s Catholic Primary School is a single-steam co-educational school, moving to double-stream catering for students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6. Teaching and integrating our school values of humility, compassion, service and charity into the student’s life and curriculum is a major focus at St Elizabeth’s.

Key responsibilities include:

• Support the Principal in the overall leadership and management of the school.
• Promote and uphold the Catholic ethos and values of the school.
• Lead and manage curriculum development and implementation.
• Foster a positive and collaborative school culture.
• Oversee student welfare and behaviour management.
• Engage with parents, the parish, and the wider community.
• Contribute to staff professional development and performance management.

Selection Criteria

CATHOLIC IDENTITY
• Expertise and knowledge in ensuring Catholic faith is integrated into all aspects of school life and demonstrated commitment to ethos and mission of Catholic Education.
• Ability to lead Sacramental Programs, Mass and liturgies and to work collaboratively with staff, parish and priests.

EDUCATION
• Proven ability to lead and inspire colleagues in implementing effective pedagogical practices and developing a culture of reflective practice and continuous improvement.
• Capacity to use data and reflection to lead professional learning to raise student levels of achievement and drive strategic planning and school focus.
• Experience in supporting students with diverse educational needs.
• Expertise with ICT and its applications within the classroom environment.

COMMUNITY
• Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills fostering positive relationships with parents, parish and wider community stakeholders, and experience in supporting student safety and wellbeing.
• Expertise in partnering with parents and engaging parents in the learning and life of the school.

STEWARDSHIP
• Administrative and strategic expertise in implementing governance and system requirements to guide and support staff in creating thriving and safe learning environments that supports and fosters student faith, learning and wellbeing.
• Understanding of educational regulations and frameworks (EYLF, WA Curriculum, NQS, AITSL) to guide and support staff development and expertise.

Qualifications Required

• Accreditation to Lead in a Catholic School (or willingness to attain this).
• A minimum of seven years teaching experience.
• Experience with the Assistant Principal position (desirable).
