Position Details
Education Assistant (Special Needs) – Full-time, Ongoing
Matthew Gibney catholic Primary School is a single stream, co-educational school with an active school community and supportive parent body. Education excellence is highly regarded, with the staff utilising data to inform their practices to provide a quality education that meets the students' needs.
We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and organised Education Assistant (Special Needs) to join our team of dedicated staff members in our Early Childhood team. Educators at Matthew Gibney Catholic Primary School are dedicated to ensuring that every student has a strong sense of belonging to our community. The school motto “UNDER GOD'S PROTECTION” is strongly exemplified in the person, life and teachings of Jesus. The Making Jesus Real program defines behavioural expectations across the school.
Selection Criteria
• Applicants must be prepared to support the Catholic ethos in the performance of their duties
• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
• Positive, enthusiastic and has a sense of humour
• Work cooperatively and collaboratively as part of an energetic and dedicated team of educators
• Develops positive, meaningful and respectful relationships with students, staff and families

• Consistently demonstrates excellent communication skills
• Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality
• Be a proactive contributor within the school community - willing to share ideas, time and expertise for the betterment of the school
Qualifications Required
• Certificate IV is desirable
• Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School (or willingness to obtain this)
