Position Details
Science Teacher – Full-time, Temporary
We are seeking a dedicated and engaging Science Teacher to join our College. This is a full-time, temporary position for Term 1 2025 (only) – replacing a staff member on leave.
This role reports to the Head of Science, the successful applicant will be a passionate and innovative Science Teacher with the ability to teach Marine and Maritime Studies.
Your responsibilities as a Science Teacher include:
• The ability to teach year 11 ATAR Marine and Maritime Studies is preferable.
• The ability to teach lower school Science to years 7-10.
• The ability to be innovative in current teaching methodologies, keeping up to date with current pedagogical trends in Science.
• Ability to differentiate the Science curriculum to a range of ability groups, to ensure individual student success.
• To work collaboratively to build rapport with students, parents and all College employees to develop respectful, inclusive and positive working relationships.
Selection Criteria
• Highly skilled and competent in the delivery of upper school Science in 11 ATAR Marine and Maritime studies would be preferable.
• The ability to engage students in Science in years 7-10.
• Experience in writing and delivering differentiated programs in Science.
• Ability to demonstrate a strong commitment to contemporary pedagogical practices.
• Ability to promote and support a culture where students can be the best they can be.
• Innovative, the ability to be flexible and an adaptable change agent, by embracing existing and emerging technologies and teaching practices that support contemporary student learning.
• An awareness and appreciation for the Catholic ethos of the College.
Qualifications Required
• Undergraduate degree in a specific discipline with a Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary) or Bachelor of Education.
