Position Details
Holy Spirit School is a small school with a big heart. We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled educator to take on the role of Assistant Principal at Holy Spirit. The successful applicant will have direct involvement in a wide variety of leadership experiences as the school continues to build upon its rich history and current pedagogical journey. They will ideally be an enthusiastic, dynamic ‘hands on’ educational leader with a collaborative style, who is committed to the Catholic faith and incorporates this in the values and behaviours of their personal and community life. They will work in close partnership with the Principal, within a single Assistant Principal model and have exposure to all aspects of school leadership. The role encompasses a 0.6 leadership role with a 0.4 teaching load.

The position will be ongoing commencing at the beginning of 2026 school year. Additional areas of responsibility will be negotiated with the successful applicant based on their expertise and experience.

Selection Criteria
• Understands and supports the Catholic tradition and Ethos of the school. Including experience in leading the implementation of Religious Education and Liturgical celebrations.
• Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a successful record of nurturing positive, respectful relationships between staff, students, parents and parish.
• Demonstrates outstanding knowledge, ability and experience in classroom teaching.
• Demonstrates experience managing innovative pedagogical change.
• Possesses leadership experience which highlights a flexible and calm demeanour to solve complex issues.
• Experience in leading Special Needs student integration including funding submissions and tracking, additionally; is adept at leading IEP creation, communication and review processes.
• Possesses strong organisational and time management skills, is self-led with an ability to prioritise tasks, meet prescribed deadlines, and concurrently manage a number of competing tasks.
• Possesses highly developed decision-making skills and a demonstrated ability to think strategically, creatively and analytically.
• Possesses a high level of initiative and innovation to create collaborative practices as part of a dynamic school environment.
• Thrives in a close-knit community environment and has the ability to work professionally, cooperatively, and collaboratively as part of a cohesive and dedicated leadership and teaching team.
• Is willing to assist and contribute positively to all areas of school life.

Interviews will take place during Term 3, in consultation with the shortlisted applicants. Interviews will be conducted in a panel style with the Principal and a number of key stakeholders.

Qualifications Required
• Bachelor of Education Primary or equivalent
• Early Years Qualifications (desirable)
• Masters of Education (desirable)
• Accreditation to Lead in a Catholic School or working towards
