Position Details

GROUNDSPERSON / HANDYPERSON


Our Lady of Good Counsel Primary School is a single-stream primary school in Karrinyup, WA. The school is seeking the employment of a Groundsperson / Handyperson to assist with the oversight of grounds and maintenance at the school.

Typical duties include, but are not limited to:

•    Oversee the general maintenance and development of turf areas and surrounds
•    Labouring and operation of some machinery
•    Set out and mark fields for play
•    Planting and maintaining trees and gardens
•    Maintain simple records

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

•    Responsible for garbage collection every day around the school
•    Responsible for leaf blowing each day, or as required
•    Pulling and spraying weeds as required
•    Mowing as required
•    Bush cutting as required
•    General gardening as required, ie. Mulching, trimming, fertilising, watering, establishing new jobs as required
•    Maintaining small plant machinery
•    Set up and pack away at events as required
•    Hedging as required
•    Moving furniture when required
•    Assisting with general maintenance of school premises as required

This is a part-time position, with hours of work to be negotiated with the successful candidate. Early mornings will be required as part of the fulfilment of duties. The position will be contracted with 8 weeks annual leave per year.
