Position Details
Assistant Principal
St Brigid’s School is a co-educational Primary School catering for 205 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Proudly established by the Presentation Sisters in 1902, our school has a rich tradition that continues today, of providing our students with an outstanding education underpinned by Catholic values and spiritual development. At St Brigid’s, we strive to bring life to our Vision for Learning, “Inspired by Jesus, we walk together with our families to nurture faith filled, engaged and successful learners.”
St Brigid’s School is located in Collie, a 2 hour drive south of Perth and 40 minutes from Bunbury. With a population of 9,000, Collie is a welcoming community. Collie has established educational services, entertainment, shopping and a hospital. A popular tourism destination, the town and surrounding area boast beautiful lakes, walk and bike trails and beautiful natural scenery.
This is an exciting leadership position and an outstanding opportunity for a passionate and dynamic educator and leader to positively influence the lives of the students, staff and families at St Brigid’s School.
Selection Criteria
- Be fully supportive of the objectives and ethos of Catholic education and pastoral philosophies at St Brigid’s School.
- Promote the Catholic Identity of the school through its vision, mission and educational goals and values.
- Have the skills and ability to support the Principal in the Leadership Domains of Catholic Identity, Education, Community and Stewardship.
- Have a strong knowledge of current educational practices to assist with the ongoing development of curriculum and school improvement within St Brigid’s School and have a passion for driving educational change.
- Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to build positive relationships with all students, staff, families and the St Brigid’s Parish.
- Demonstrate outstanding teaching skills and a comprehensive knowledge of current curriculum and pedagogical practices to assist students to achieve their full potential. Early Childhood experience would be desirable.
- Experience in data collection and analysis at a student, classroom and whole school level with the ability to lead staff in the interpretation of such data.
-work collaboratively as part of a cohesive and dedicated leadership team and staff, to enhance a supportive, innovative and professional staff culture.
Qualifications Required
- Completed or have made progress towards completing Accreditation for Leadership.
- A minimum of seven years relevant educational experience.
