Position Details

Education Assistant (Early Childhood) – Part-time (0.4 FTE), Temporary

Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School, located in the picturesque town of Esperance, is a co-educational primary school catering for approximately 140 students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6. The school was built in 1992 and was established to be a distinctively Catholic learning community with a clear vision to provide a stimulating environment where students can grow in their faith and become confident life-long learners. At Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School, we Make Jesus Real by living out our CORE values of Courage, Optimism, Respect and Excellence. Our inquiry approach to learning is evident throughout the school, focusing on student engagement and rich, real life learning opportunities. A 1:1 iPad program operates in Years 4-6.
 
We are seeking an Education Assistant to join our school community in 2025. This is a fixed-term position (01/01/25 - 31/12/25) with the possibility of continuing in 2026. The successful applicant will be required to work two days per week (0.4 FTE) in Early Childhood classrooms, with the exact days to be determined.

•    Willingness to work under the direction of the classroom teacher.
•    Ability to develop positive relationships with students.
•    Experience working with small groups and/or working alongside students with specific learning needs.
•    Well-developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
•    Ability to use an iPad as a tool for learning and communication.
•    Be a reflective staff member, open to feedback and professional growth.


Qualifications Required

•    Certificate III Education Assistant or equivalent.
•    Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School, or the willingness to achieve this.
