| | <p><strong>SPORT TEACHER (1 DAY PER WEEK)</strong></p><p><strong>Position Details</strong><br>St Joseph’s School Waroona is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic and relational educator to join our staff in the role of Sport Teacher (0.2 FTE – One day per week) commencing 20 July 2026 until 31 December 2026.<br>This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator who enjoys working with primary-aged students and promoting participation, teamwork and lifelong healthy habits through physical activity and sport.<br>St Joseph’s School Waroona is a welcoming and vibrant Catholic primary school committed to nurturing the academic, social, emotional and spiritual growth of every child. Further information about our school can be found at: <a href="https://stjoeswaroona.wa.edu.au/">St Joseph’s School Waroona </a></p><p><strong>The successful applicant will be responsible for:</strong><br>• Delivering the Health and Physical Education curriculum across the school from Kindergarten to Year 6<br>• Designing, implementing and assessing engaging, active and dynamic sport lessons<br>• Supporting the organisation and running of school athletics and swimming carnivals<br>• Assisting staff with monitoring and tracking student health, fitness and participation<br>• Promoting a strong culture of participation, enjoyment and active lifestyles for all students<br>• Providing students with a variety of sporting opportunities and experiences<br>• Working with outside organisations to coordinate engaging sporting clinics and programs<br>• Assisting with applications for programs and grants, including Sporting Schools, to support student opportunities<br>• Working collaboratively with staff from our school and neighbouring schools when organising carnivals, interschool sport and other events<br>• Supporting the Catholic ethos and values of the school in all aspects of school life<br><strong>We are seeking a person who:</strong><br>• Demonstrates a strong commitment to the ethos and values of Catholic education<br>• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills<br>• Is enthusiastic, organised and passionate about primary sport and physical activity<br>• Can build strong positive relationships with students, staff, parents and community stakeholders<br>• Is committed to supporting student wellbeing through movement, participation and healthy lifestyles<br>• Can work collaboratively as part of a small, supportive school team</p><p><strong>Qualifications required</strong><br>• Relevant teaching qualifications and current TRBWA registration<br>• Current Working with Children Check<br>• Demonstrated experience or interest in primary physical education and sport<br>• Strong organisational and communication skills<br>• Ability to foster student participation, confidence and enjoyment in sport and physical activity</p><p><strong>Application details</strong><br>Interested candidates are asked to please send a CV, Cover letter (no more than two pages in total) and the names and contact information of at least three referees to the Principal of the school, Ronan Kelly via email to <a href="mailto:Ronan.Kelly@cewa.edu.au">ronan.kelly@cewa.edu.au</a></p><p><strong>Closing Date for Applications:</strong> June 19th 2026 3.00 pm.</p><p> </p> |
